Go see the new Tron its badass. Its a great film for 3D, the visual effects are wonderful and play well into the 3D. I love the music (Daft Punk) it was great at setting mood and went with the whole feeling of the movie. Primery characters were interesting, though I felt Sam Flynn felt a little standard. The dude was the dude. Lets go knocking on the sky.
Some excellent news for the Alien prequel in the works— legendary artist HR Giger, the original creator of the alien xenomorphs is returning to the franchise to help create the look of the early proto-xenomorphs or however they’re going to do it. Supposedly, the film might be split into two movies, both set before the original Alien.
A hope, a chance just please don’t suck
Tomorrow night, starting at about 12:29AM EST, there’s going to be a total eclipse of the moon, and if you’re living in North or South America, you’ll be able see it nearly totally. If you live in Europe, Asia or Australia… better luck next time.
In a recent experiment with the Large Hadron Collider meant to test some of the aspects of string theory, scientists were surprised to find not a damn thing they expected to see. This is one of the first times anyone’s been able to directly test a component of string theory and it fell flat. What they were supposed to be looking for were tiny jets of matter and energy coming from microscopic man-made black holes, but they saw nothing.
We’re coming a long way fast in the science and technology of prosthetic arms and hands. I mean just check out this video for Dean Kamen’s Luke arm. Pretty slick stuff. But which is more practical— today’s prosthetic hands or a prosthetic tentacle?
